Structural Response of a Prefabricated Utility Tunnel Subject to a Reverse Fault

Prefabricated utility tunnels have drawn much attention in relation to rapid urban development. On this, how maintain the integrity of an underground lifeline, which is subjected unexpected fault displacement action, a concern either from design or construction aspect. By applying commercial software program ABAQUS, this paper presents systematic numerical simulation prefabricated tunnel affected by reverse fault. The critical parameters investigated study include displacement, burial depth, tunnel-soil friction coefficient, and angle crossing plane. Results modeling revealed that: (1) both overall structural deformation spliced joints increase with increasing greatly reduces waterproofing ability joints; (2) opening on roof near plane positively correlated but variation slight; (3) variations coefficient little effect deformation; (4) basically gradually increases plane, different than when it away main outcomes obtained can provide reference for active area.
